SELF-PROTECTION
CLASSES
A
self-protection class sponsored by Community Chest Foundation
for young women between the ages of 17 - 22
will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2008 beginning at
7:00pm at Orion Wellness Center (located next
to the Rogers Library at 21308 John Milless Drive, Suite 104).
The class is FREE thanks to a grant provided by the
Three
Rivers Community Foundation. Pre-registration is required;
limit 25. Sign up by visiting the Orion Wellness Center.
Attendees
will learn common-sense tips for routine activities, practice
self-protection techniques and discuss real-life situations
to bring awareness to everyday occurrences. The class will
be taught by a law enforcement professional and run about
two hours. Self-protection items, such as pepper spray and
small flashlights will be available at a reasonable price.

FUTURE
SELF-PROTECTION CLASSES
Thanks
to the generous grant provided by the Three Rivers Community
Foundation, Community Chest Foundation will be sponsoring
a series of self-protection classes. In addition to the session
for young women there will also be one for working women,
mothers with young children, and senior citizens. Watch for
details coming soon!

SCHOLARSHIP
DONATION
Community
Chest Foundation contributed a $200 scholarship to
this year's Rogers High School Scholarship Award Night.
The recipient of this first annual donation was Ranju Ganesh.
